Punjab Assembly Speaker issues strict notice over insulting remarks against Momina Iqbal

اسمبلی اجلاس کے دوران رکن صوبائی اسمبلی ندیم قریشی نے سیاسی نمائندگی پر جاری بحث کے دوران مومنہ اقبال کا نام لیتے ہوئے یہ ریمارکس دیے تھے۔
اس موقع پر اسپیکر نے فوری مداخلت کرتے ہوئے رکنِ اسمبلی کو اپنے الفاظ واپس لینے کی ہدایت کی۔ سپیکر نے کہا کہ مومنہ اقبال شوبز انڈسٹری کی ایک باعزت شخصیت ہیں اور ان کے بارے میں اس نوعیت کے ریمارکس انتہائی امتیازی اور تعصب پر مبنی ہیں۔
انہوں نے کہا کہ اسمبلی فلور پر کسی فرد کو ذاتی طور پر نشانہ بنانا مناسب نہیں۔
اسپیکر پنجاب اسمبلی ملک احمد خان نے متعلقہ ریمارکس کو فوری طور پر کارروائی کے ریکارڈ سے حذف کرنے کا حکم بھی دیا۔

During the assembly session, Member of Provincial Assembly Nadeem Qureshi made these remarks while naming Momina Iqbal during the ongoing debate on political representation.
At this point, the Speaker immediately intervened and directed the member of the assembly to withdraw his words. The Speaker said that Momina Iqbal is a respected figure in the showbiz industry and such remarks about her are highly discriminatory and biased.
He said that it is not appropriate to personally target an individual on the assembly floor.
Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Ahmed Khan also ordered the immediate deletion of the relevant remarks from the record of proceedings.
