لاہور کی انسداد دہشتگردی عدالت میں سانحہ 9 مئی کے مقدمات کی سماعت ہوئی جس سلسلے میں پی ٹی آئی کے وائس چیئرمین شاہ محمود قریشی کو عدالت میں پیش کیا گیا۔
دوران سماعت شاہ محمود قریشی روسٹرم پر آئے اور کہا کہ جب مقدمات درج ہوئے تب میں پنجاب میں نہیں تھا، مجھے ایک سال دو ماہ بعد گرفتار کیا گیا، جب میں رہا ہوا تو 9 مئی مقدمات میں گرفتار کر لیا گیا۔
انہوں نے کہا کہ بانی پی ٹی آئی کا میں نائب کپتان ہوں، میں بھاگنے کا سوچ بھی نہیں سکتا، یہ لوگ ڈرتے ہیں اگر میں باہر آ گیا تو لوگ اکٹھےہوں گے، 40 سال سے سیاست میں ہوں کبھی کوئی مقدمہ نہ ہوا، اب اچانک 55 مقدمات درج ہوگئے۔
شاہ محمود کا کہنا تھا کہ یہ لوگ دلائل کیوں نہیں دے رہے، یہ جان بوجھ کر التوا چاہتے ہیں، اگر ہم گناہ گار ہیں تو ہمیں سزا دیں، یہ قوم کا وقت ضائع کر رہے ہیں، ہمیں عدالتوں پر بڑا اعتماد ہے۔
بعدازاں کمرہ عدالت میں صحافیوں سے غیر رسمی گفتگو کرتے ہوئے شاہ محمود قریشی نے کہا کہ پی ٹی آئی کے نظریاتی کارکنان کل جلسہ گاہ میں پہنچیں، 8 فروری کو قوم نے تمام مشکلات کے باوجود صحیح فیصلے لیے تھے۔
اس موقع پر صحافی نے سوال کیا کہ جوڈیشل پیکیج اور ججز کی تعداد بڑھانے سے متعلق بل آرہا ہے اس بارے کیا کہیں گے؟ سابق وزیر خارجہ نے جواب دیا کہ ان بلوں کے ذریعے پارلیمنٹ کو بلڈوز کرنے کی کوشش کی گئی، کم از کم بل کے پہلوؤں کو تو عوام کے سامنے لایا جاتا، ہماری درخواست ہے عدلیہ کو کمزور نہ کریں۔
صحافی نے پوچھا کہ پرویز الہٰی کو پی ٹی آئی کا صدر بنایا گیا مگر وہ خاموش ہیں، جس پر شاہ محمود قریشی نے کہا کہ اڈیالہ جیل میں پرویز الہٰی اور میں اکٹھے تھے، ان کی طبیعت واقعی خراب تھی۔
صحافی کے سوال کا جواب دیتے ہوئے شاہ محمود قریشی نے کہا کہ اگر میں اسٹیبلشمنٹ کا بندہ ہوتا تو کیا آج جیل میں ہوتا؟ میرے خلاف پارٹی میں ایک بڑی کمپین چلائی گئی، میرا سادہ سا سوال ہے میں بانی پی ٹی آئی کی کور کابینہ میں تھا، بانی پی ٹی آئی سے سوال کیجیے گا کہ کیا ان کی کور کابینہ میں سے میرے علاوہ ان کے ساتھ کون کھڑا ہے؟

The anti-terrorism court of Lahore heard the cases of the May 9 tragedy in which PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi was presented in the court.
During the hearing, Shah Mehmood Qureshi came to the rostrum and said that I was not in Punjab when the cases were registered, I was arrested after one year and two months, when I was released, I was arrested in the cases on May 9.
He said that I am the vice-captain of the founding PTI, I cannot even think of running away, these people are afraid that if I come out, people will gather together, I have been in politics for 40 years, there has never been any case, now suddenly. 55 cases were registered.
Shah Mahmood said that why these people are not giving arguments, they want to postpone it deliberately, if we are guilty then punish us, they are wasting the nation’s time, we have great faith in the courts.
Later, speaking informally to journalists in the courtroom, Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that PTI’s ideological workers reached the meeting hall yesterday, on February 8, the nation had taken the right decisions despite all the difficulties.
On this occasion, the journalist asked what will be said about the judicial package and the bill to increase the number of judges. The former foreign minister replied that an attempt was made to bulldoze the parliament through these bills, at least the aspects of the bill would have been brought before the public, we request not to weaken the judiciary.
The journalist asked that Pervez Elahi was made the PTI president but he is silent, to which Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that Parvez Elahi and I were together in Adiala Jail, his condition was really bad.
Answering the journalist’s question, Shah Mehmood Qureshi said, “If I were an employee of the establishment, would I be in jail today?” A big campaign was launched against me in the party, my simple question is I was in the core cabinet of founder PTI. ?
