Maryam Nawaz: Punjab is launching a clean air program with the support of the World Bank

پنجاب کی وزیرِ اعلیٰ مریم نواز نے کہا ہے کہ ورلڈ بنک کے تعاون سے پنجاب کلین ایئر پروگرام شروع کر رہے ہیں۔
وزیرِ اعلیٰ مریم نواز سے ورلڈ بینک کے ریجنل نائب صدر مارٹن رائزر کی زیر قیادت اعلیٰ سطح وفد کی ملاقات ہوئی۔ ورلڈ بینک کے ریجنل نائب صدر مارٹن رائزرنے پنجاب کو ماحولیات میں بہتری کے لئے موثر اقدامات پرریجنل چیمپئن قراردے دیا۔ ملاقات میں غربت کے خاتمے، آئی ٹی اور انفراسٹرکچر میں مزید بہتری، ماحولیاتی مسائل کے حل اور سماجی ترقی کے لیے مشترکہ اقدامات پر اتفاق کیا گیا ۔ پنجاب میں جاری ورلڈ بینک کے منصوبوں کی رفتار کو تیز کرنے اور نئے منصوبوں کے آغاز پر تبادلہ خیال کیا گیا ۔
ورلڈ بینک کے نائب صدر برائے جنوبی ایشیا نے وزیر اعلیٰ مریم نواز کے عوامی فلاحی پراجیکٹس کو سراہا، کہا کہ پنجاب کے پراجیکٹس ورلڈ بینک کی کنٹری پارٹنر شپ کے ساتھ مطابقت رکھتے ہیں۔ ورلڈ بینک کے وفد نے پاپولیشن ویلفیئر ڈیپارٹمنٹ کو ہیلتھ ڈیپارنمنٹ میں ضم کرنے کے اقدام کو قابل قدر قرار دیا۔ ورلڈ بینک کے ریجنل نائب صدر مارٹن رائزرنے کہا کہ پاپولیشن ویلفیئر کے ہیلتھ ڈیپارنمنٹ میں ضم ہونے سے عوام کو بہتر سروسز کی فراہمی کی توقع ہے۔
وزیرِ اعلیٰ مریم نواز نے پنجاب کی ترقی و خوشحالی کے لیے ورلڈ بینک کے اشترک کار کو سراہا۔ مریم نواز نے کہا کہ تعلیم، صحت، سیاحت، ماحولیات کے پراجیکٹ میں ورلڈ بنک کی مزید معاونت کے خواہاں ہیں، پنجاب میں نوجوانوں کو عالمی آئی ٹی مارکیٹ سے منسلک کر کے لیے خصوصی ٹریننگ پروگرامز متعارف کرائے ہیں ۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ ورلڈ بنک کے تعاون سے پنجاب کلین ایئر پروگرام شروع کر رہے ہیں، پنجاب کلین ایئر پروگرام کے تحت الیکٹرک بسیں، رکشہ اور بائیکس متعارف کرائیں گے ۔
مریم نواز نے کہا کہ ورلڈ بنک کے تعاون سے وہیکل انسپیکشن سٹیشنز کا قیام عمل میں لایا جا رہا ہے ، ماحولیاتی آلودگی کا خاتمہ بقا کا معاملہ ہے، ورلڈ بنک کی معاونت قابل قدر ہے، ترقی کا سفر تیزی سے آگے بڑھانے کیلئے ورلڈ بینک کے ساتھ اشتراک کارجاری رکھیں گے ۔
ورلڈ بنک نائب صدر مارٹن رائزر نے کہا کہ ورلڈ بینک پاکستان خصوصاً پنجاب کے ساتھ اپنی شراکت داری کو مزید مضبوط کرنا چاہتا ہے۔پنجاب میں تعلیم، آئی ٹی اور موسمیاتی تبدیلی سے نمٹنے میں قابلِ تقلید اقدامات کیے گئے ہیں۔

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has said that with the support of the World Bank, Punjab is launching a clean air program.
A high-level delegation led by World Bank Regional Vice President Martin Riser met with Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. World Bank Regional Vice President Martin Riser declared Punjab a regional champion for effective measures to improve the environment. The meeting agreed on joint measures for poverty alleviation, further improvement in IT and infrastructure, solving environmental problems and social development. Discussions were held on accelerating the pace of ongoing World Bank projects in Punjab and launching new projects.
The World Bank Vice President for South Asia appreciated Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s public welfare projects, saying that Punjab’s projects are in line with the World Bank’s country partnership. The World Bank delegation described the move to merge the Population Welfare Department with the Health Department as valuable. World Bank Regional Vice President Martin Riser said that the integration of Population Welfare with the Health Department is expected to provide better services to the people.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz appreciated the World Bank’s participation in the development and prosperity of Punjab. Maryam Nawaz said that she is looking for more support from the World Bank in education, health, tourism, and environment projects, and has introduced special training programs to connect the youth of Punjab with the global IT market. She said that with the cooperation of the World Bank, they are starting the Punjab Clean Air Program, and will introduce electric buses, rickshaws, and bikes under the Punjab Clean Air Program.
Maryam Nawaz said that vehicle inspection stations are being established with the cooperation of the World Bank, eliminating environmental pollution is a matter of survival, the World Bank’s support is valuable, and she will continue to collaborate with the World Bank to accelerate the journey of development.
World Bank Vice President Martin Riser said that the World Bank wants to further strengthen its partnership with Pakistan, especially Punjab. Punjab has taken exemplary steps in education, IT, and addressing climate change.
