Disagreement on appointment of Vice-Chancellors; The governor’s job is to stamp; Uzma Bukhari

گورنر پنجاب سلیم حیدر نے وائس چانسلرز کے تقرر کے لیے وزیراعلیٰ مریم نواز کی سمری پر کہا ہےکہ وزیراعلیٰ کی جانب سے واضح طور پر کوئی نام تجویز نہیں کیا جاسکتا۔ گورنرکا مؤقف ہےکہ کسی یونیورسٹی کے وائس چانسلر کے عہدہ کے لئے 3 نام حروف تہجی کے اعتبار سے بھیجے جاتے ہیں، وزیراعلیٰ کا خیال ہے ان کے بھیجے گئے نمبر ایک والے ناموں کی منظوری دی جائے، وائس چانسلرز کی سلیکشن پر اطمینان نہیں ہے۔
گورنر پنجاب کا یہ مؤقف سامنے آیا ہے کہ پنجاب میں چیزیں آگے نہیں چلتیں تو قیادت کو چاہیے کہ “پیپلز پارٹی کو صوبے میں فری کردیں”، ایسا نہیں ہوسکتا کہ جو آفیسر آپ لگائیں وہ میرٹ اور دوسرا کہے تو ڈی میرٹ شمار ہو۔ گورنر کے بیان پر حکومت کی ترجمان کا موقف
گورنر ک سردار سلیم حیدر کے بیان کے جواب میں پنجاب کی وزیر اطلاعات عظمیٰ بخاری نے کہا ہے کہ وائس چانسلرز کی تقرری کے لیے سلیکشن کمیٹی کی منظوری کابینہ نے دی۔ گونر وفاقی وزیر رہ چکے ہیں۔ انہیں معلوم ہونا چاہیے کابینہ کے فیصلوں کی اہمیت کیا ہوتی ہے۔
عظمیٰ بخاری کا مؤقف ہے کہ سلیکشن کمیٹی نے یونیورسٹیوں میں وائس چانسلر تعیناتی کے خواہشمند امیدواروں سے انٹرویو کیے اور اہل،سینئر اور تجربہ کار لوگوں کے نام بطور وائس چانسلر تجویز کیے۔ صوبائی وزیر اطلاعات نے کہا، گورنر کا کام پنجاب اسمبلی اور کابینہ کے اقدامات اور فیصلوں پر مہر لگانا ہوتا ہے۔ گورنر کابینہ کے فیصلے کو مسترد کرنےکا مجاز نہیں ہوتا۔ سیاسی پوائنٹ اسکورنگ کے لیے تحریک انصاف نامی جماعت موجود ہے۔ آپ اپوزیشن کا رول کرنے کے بجائے گورنرشپ کو آئینی عہدے تک محدود رہنے دیں۔

Governor Punjab Salim Haider has said on Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s summary for the appointment of Vice Chancellors that no name can be clearly suggested by the Chief Minister. The governor is of the opinion that 3 names are sent alphabetically for the post of vice chancellor of a university.

In response to Governor Sardar Salim Haider’s statement, Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari has said that the cabinet approved the selection committee for the appointment of vice-chancellors. Gunnar has been a federal minister. They should know the significance of cabinet decisions.
Uzma Bukhari is of the opinion that the selection committee conducted interviews with the candidates who wanted to be appointed vice-chancellor in the universities and recommended the names of qualified, senior and experienced people as vice-chancellors. Provincial Information Minister said, Governor’s job is to seal the actions and decisions of Punjab Assembly and Cabinet. The Governor is not authorized to reject the decision of the Cabinet. There is a party called Tehreek-e-Insaaf for political point scoring. Instead of playing the role of the opposition, let the governorship be limited to a constitutional position.
