سانحہ 12 مئی کو گزرے اٹھارہ برس بیت گئے لیکن ذمہ داروں کو سزا نہ ہو سکی، مجموعی طور پر اٹھارہ مقدمات انسداد دہشت گردی عدالتوں میں زیر سماعت ہیں۔
سندھ ہائی کورٹ بار اور کراچی بار ایسوسی ایشن نے آج یوم سیاہ منانے کا اعلان کیا ہے۔
12 مئی 2007 کا وہ دن کہ جب شہر کی سڑکوں پر خون سے ہولی کھیلی گئی، معزول چیف جسٹس افتخار محمد چودھری کی کراچی آمد پر استقبال کرنے والی سیاسی جماعتیں اور مخالف جماعت آمنے سامنے آئیں، فائرنگ اور پرتشدد واقعات میں 50 سے زائد شہری جاں بحق ہوئے۔
ایئرپورٹ تھانے میں درج 7 مقدمات میں 18 سے زائد ملزمان گرفتار ہوئے، ان 7 مقدمات میں ایک مقدمے کا فیصلہ ہوا، جس میں ملزمان کو بری کر دیا گیا جبکہ 6 مقدمات انسداد دہشت گردی کی عدالتوں میں اب بھی زیر سماعت ہیں۔
مرنے والوں کے اہل خانہ کو آج تک انصاف نہیں مل سکا، سندھ ہائی کورٹ کے حکم پر دوبارہ کھولے گئے اٹھارہ مقدمات استغاثہ کی جانب سے گواہان پیش نہ کئے جانے پر التوا کا شکار ہیں۔
سابق صدر کراچی بار محمود الحسن نے کہا ہے کہ عدلیہ کی بحالی کی تحریک میں کئی پرتشدد واقعات ہوئے لیکن کراچی کے مناظر خوفناک تھے۔
صدر کراچی بار عامر وڑائچ کا کہنا ہے کہ اس وقت کی وکلا قیادت اور سیاسی جماعتیں بھی اب مقدمات کی پیروی میں دلچسپی نہیں رکھتی، عدالت بھی چاہے تو گواہان کو پیش ہونے کے لئے پابند کیا جاسکتا ہے۔
یاد رہے کہ رواں برس جنوری میں انسداد دہشتگردی عدالت نے تھانہ ایئرپورٹ میں درج مقدمے میں سابق مشیر داخلہ وسیم اختر، عمیر صدیقی و دیگر کو مقدمے سے بری کیا تھا تاہم مختلف تھانوں میں درج اٹھارہ مقدمات تاحال زیر سماعت ہیں۔

More than 18 accused were arrested in 7 cases registered at the Airport Police Station, one case was decided in these 7 cases, in which the accused were acquitted, while 6 cases are still pending in the anti-terrorism courts.
The families of the deceased have not been able to get justice till date, and eighteen cases reopened on the orders of the Sindh High Court are pending due to the prosecution not presenting witnesses.
Former Karachi Bar President Mahmoodul Hassan has said that there were many violent incidents in the movement to restore the judiciary, but the scenes in Karachi were horrific.
President Karachi Bar Amir Warraich says that the then legal leadership and political parties are no longer interested in pursuing cases, and if the court wants, witnesses can be compelled to appear.
It should be remembered that in January this year, the Anti-Terrorism Court acquitted former Interior Adviser Waseem Akhtar, Umair Siddiqui and others in a case registered at the Airport Police Station, however, eighteen cases registered at different police stations are still under trial.
