First CPA conference held in Punjab Assembly, representatives from 20 assemblies participate

پنجاب اسمبلی میں ایشیاء اور جنوب مشرقی ایشیاء کی پہلی کامن ویلتھ پارلیمنٹری ایسوسی ایشن ( سی پی اے )کانفرنس کا آغاز ہو گیا۔
سی پی اے کانفرنس میں سری لنکا، مالدیپ، برطانیہ، زیمبیا، ملائیشیا اور پاکستان سمیت 20 اسمبلیوں کے 100 سے زائد نمائندے شریک ہیں، شرکاء میں 13 سپیکرز، 4 ڈپٹی سپیکرز اور ایک چیئرمین شامل ہیں، برانچ سیکرٹریٹ کی میٹنگ میں سیکرٹری پنجاب اسمبلی عامر حبیب اور سی پی اے ریجنل سیکرٹری مسز کشانی انوشا کانفرنس کے ایجنڈے کو حتمی شکل دی۔
کانفرنس کا ایجنڈا پارلیمانی جمہوریت، شفاف قانون سازی اور احتساب پر مبنی ہے، سپیکر ملک محمد احمد خان نے تقریب میں شریک مہمانوں کو سوینئر پیش کیے، کانفرنس میں علاقائی ایگزیکٹو کمیٹی کا بھی اجلاس شروع ہوگا جس کی صدارت سپیکر پنجاب اسمبلی ملک محمد احمد خان اور ڈاکٹر جگتھ وکرمارتنے کریں گے۔
کمیٹی کی منظوری کے بعد علاقائی ترجیحات پر تبادلہ خیال ہوگا، اجلاس میں پنجاب اسمبلی پر خصوصی ڈاکیومنٹری بھی دکھائی جائے گی، کانفرنس کے آغازپرچیئرپرسن آف دی سی پی اے ایگزیکٹو کمیٹی ڈاکٹر کرسٹوفر خلیلا ریمارکس دیں گے، کانفرنس سے ملائشین پارلیمنٹ کے سینیٹر پیلے پیٹرٹنگ گوم خطاب کریں گے۔
کانفرنس میں ڈپٹی سپیکر پیپلزمجلس آف مالدیپ احمد ناظم ،سری لنکن پارلیمنٹ کے سپیکر ڈاکٹر جگت وکراما رتنے بھی خطاب کریں گے، سی پی اے کانفرنس کے پہلے روز سپیکر قومی اسمبلی سردار ایاز صادق مہمان خصوصی ہیں، دوپہر کے اجلاس میں خواتین، نوجوانوں اور اقلیتوں سمیت کم نمائندگی والے گروہوں کو بااختیار بنانے کے لیے قانون سازی کے طریقہ کار کا جائزہ لیا جائے گا۔
دوپہر والے اجلاس سے ڈپٹی سپیکر یو کے ہاؤس آف کامنز نصرت غنی، پاکستان سے سینیٹر انوشے رحمان سمیت پارلیمانی ممبرز خطاب کریں گے، پہلے دن کے اجلاس کے اختتام پر مندوبین کو لاہور کے کلچر سے روشناس کروایا جائےگا، حضوری باغ میں سپیکر پنجاب اسمبلی ملک محمد احمد خان کی طرف سے خصوصی ڈنر بھی دیا جائےگا۔

The first Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) conference of Asia and Southeast Asia has begun in the Punjab Assembly.
More than 100 representatives from 20 assemblies including Sri Lanka, Maldives, United Kingdom, Zambia, Malaysia and Pakistan are participating in the CPA conference. The participants include 13 speakers, 4 deputy speakers and a chairman. In the meeting of the branch secretariat, Secretary Punjab Assembly Aamir Habib and CPA Regional Secretary Mrs. Kushani Anusha finalized the agenda of the conference.
The agenda of the conference is based on parliamentary democracy, transparent legislation and accountability. Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan presented souvenirs to the guests participating in the ceremony. A meeting of the regional executive committee will also begin in the conference, which will be chaired by Speaker Punjab Assembly Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan and Dr. Jagath Vikram.
After the committee’s approval, regional priorities will be discussed. A special documentary on the Punjab Assembly will also be shown in the meeting. The conference will be inaugurated by the Chairperson of the CPA Executive Committee, Dr. Christopher Khalila. Senator Pele Petting Gom of the Malaysian Parliament will address the conference.
Deputy Speaker of the People’s Majlis of Maldives, Ahmed Nazim, and Speaker of the Sri Lankan Parliament, Dr. Jagat Wickramaratne, will also address the conference. Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, is the chief guest on the first day of the CPA conference. The afternoon session will review the legislative process to empower underrepresented groups, including women, youth, and minorities.
Deputy Speaker of the UK House of Commons, Nusrat Ghani, and parliamentary members from Pakistan, including Senator Anushay Rehman, will address the afternoon session. At the end of the first day’s session, the delegates will be introduced to the culture of Lahore. A special dinner will also be hosted by Speaker of the Punjab Assembly, Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan, at the Hazuri Bagh.
