Today is the birthday of the great son of the country, young pilot officer Rashid Minhas Shaheed.

وطن کے عظیم سپوت نوجوان پائلٹ آفیسر راشد منہاس شہید کا آج یوم پیدائش ہے۔
راشد منہاس تربیتی پرواز پر روانہ ہو رہے تھے اچانک انسٹرکٹر مطیع الرحمان طیارے میں سوار ہوگئے اور جہاز کا رخ بھارت کی جانب موڑ دیا، راشد منہاس نے طیارے کا رخ دشمن کے بجائے زمین کی طرف موڑ دیا اور یوں اپنے وطن کی حرمت پر جان قربان کر دی۔
راشد منہاس کی اس عظیم قربانی پر انہیں پاکستان کا سب سے بڑا فوجی اعزاز نشان حیدر عطا کیا گیا، ان کی یہ قربانی آج بھی ہر پاکستانی کے دل میں جوش و جذبے کی مثال ہے۔
راشد منہاس 17 فروری 1951 کو کراچی میں پیدا ہوئے، 1968 میں پاکستان ایئر فورس میں شمولیت اختیار کی، راشد منہاس شہید کے 7 بہن بھائی تھے۔

Rashid Minhas was leaving for a training flight when suddenly instructor Matiur Rehman boarded the plane and turned the plane towards India. Rashid Minhas turned the plane towards the earth instead of the enemy and thus sacrificed his life for the sanctity of his homeland.
For this great sacrifice of Rashid Minhas, he was awarded Pakistan’s highest military award, Nishan-e-Haider. His sacrifice is still an example of enthusiasm and passion in the heart of every Pakistani.
Rashid Minhas was born on February 17, 1951 in Karachi, joined the Pakistan Air Force in 1968, Rashid Minhas Shaheed had 7 siblings.
