Putting hands on people’s throats is not freedom of expression, Anwarul Haq Kakar

سابق نگراں وزیراعظم انوار الحق کاکڑ نے کہا ہے کہ لوگوں کے گریبانوں میں ہاتھ ڈالنا فریڈم آف اسپیچ نہیں ہے۔
جامعہ کراچی میں بائیو ٹیکنالوجی اور جنیٹک انجینئرنگ سے متعلق سیمینار سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے انہوں نے کہا کہ آج کل روایت چل پڑی ہے کہ لوگ سخت سوالوں سے ڈر جاتے ہیں۔
انوار الحق کاکڑ نے کہا کہ میں سوال کو نہیں روکتا، سوال کا مقصد سمجھانا ہے الجھنا نہیں، کیا فزکس یا کیمیا میں ترقی سے حکومت نے روکا ہے، کیا منع کیا گیا ہے کہ کیوں نیا مالیکیول دریافت کیا ہے۔
انہوں نے کہا کہ کیا صرف گالیاں دینا تنقید ہے، ہم صرف تنقید پر توجہ دیتے ہیں تنقید کے ماحول سے نکلنا ہوگا، ہم شارٹ کٹ کی تلاش میں رہتے ہیں، ہمیں مکالمے کی ضرورت ہے۔
سابق نگراں وزیراعظم نے کہا کہ دوسری عالمی جنگ عظیم میں 5 کروڑ لوگ ہلاک ہوئے، تبدیلی انارکی کے خلاف ہونی چاہیے، چوائس ہمارے پاس موجود ہے۔

Former Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar has said that putting hands on people’s necks is not freedom of speech.
Addressing a seminar on Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering in University of Karachi, he said that nowadays there is a tradition that people are afraid of tough questions.
Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar said that I do not stop the question, the purpose of the question is to explain and not to confuse, has the government stopped the progress in physics or chemistry, has it been prohibited, why has a new molecule been discovered?
He said that only abusing is criticism, we only pay attention to criticism, we have to get out of the atmosphere of criticism, we are looking for shortcuts, we need dialogue.
The former caretaker prime minister said that 50 million people died in the Second World War, change should be against anarchy, the choice is with us.
