Defamation Law Challenged in Lahore High Court

لاہور ہائیکورٹ میں درخواست صحافی جعفر احمد یار اور راجہ ریاض نے ایڈووکیٹ ندیم سرور کے ذریعے دائر کی ، درخواست میں وزیر اعلیٰ اور گورنر پنجاب بذریعہ پرنسپل سیکرٹری ، پنجاب حکومت کو فریق بنایا گیا ہے ۔
درخواست میں مؤقف اختیار کیا گیا ہے کہ ہتک عزت قانون آئین اور قانون کے منافی ہے، ہتک عزت آرڈیننس اور ہتک عزت ایکٹ کی موجودگی میں نیا قانون نہیں بن سکتا، ہتک عزت قانون میں صحافیوں سے مشاورت نہیں کی گئی، ہتک عزت کا قانون جلد بازی میں صحافیوں اور میڈیا کو کنٹرول کرنے کے لیے لایا گیا ہے۔
درخواست میں عدالت سے استدعا کی گئی ہے کہ ہتک عزت کے قانون کو کالعدم قرار دے اور درخواست کے حتمی فیصلے تک ہتک عزت قانون پر عملدرآمد روکا جائے۔

The application was filed in the Lahore High Court by journalist Jafar Ahmad Yar and Raja Riaz through advocate Nadeem Sarwar, the Chief Minister and Governor of Punjab through the Principal Secretary, Punjab Government have been made parties in the application.
It has been argued in the petition that the defamation law is against the constitution and the law, a new law cannot be made in the presence of the defamation ordinance and the defamation act, the journalists were not consulted in the defamation law, the defamation law soon. journalists and media have been brought in to control.
In the application, the court has been requested to declare the defamation law null and void and to stop the implementation of the defamation law till the final decision of the application.
