Sri Lanka: 46 kg of drugs recovered from suitcase, British woman arrested

برطانوی خاتون کو سری لنکا میں منشیات رکھنے کے الزام میں گرفتار کرلیا گیا۔
برطانوی میڈیا کے مطابق مبینہ طور پر برطانوی خاتون کے سوٹ کیس سے 46 کلو منشیات برآمد ہونے کے بعد اسے گرفتار کیا گیا۔کسٹم افسران نے جنوبی لندن سے تعلق رکھنے والی 21 سالہ خاتون پر رواں ماہ کے شروع میں ملک میں منشیات اسمگل کرنے کی کوشش کا الزام لگایا تھا۔
دوسری جانب خاتون نے اپنے سامان میں منشیات کی موجودگی سے انکار کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ منشیات کو میرے سامان میں رکھا گیا۔برطانوی میڈیا کے مطابق خاتون کو سری لنکا کے دارالحکومت کولمبو کی ایک جیل میں رکھا گیا ہے۔خاتون کے وکیل کے مطابق وہ اپنے اہلخانہ سے رابطے میں ہیں تاہم جرم ثابت ہونے پر انہیں 25 سال قید کی سزا ہو سکتی ہے۔

A British woman has been arrested in Sri Lanka on charges of possessing drugs.
According to British media, a British woman was arrested after 46kg of drugs were allegedly found in her suitcase. Customs officers had accused the 21-year-old woman from south London of trying to smuggle drugs into the country earlier this month.
On the other hand, the woman denied the presence of drugs in her luggage, saying that the drugs were kept in her luggage. According to British media, the woman is being held in a prison in the Sri Lankan capital, Colombo. According to the woman’s lawyer, she is in contact with her family, but if convicted, she could face up to 25 years in prison.
