ترجمان محکمہ داخلہ پنجاب کا کہنا ہے کہ 8 فروری کو ہر قسم کے سیاسی احتجاج، جلسے، جلوس، ریلیوں اور دھرنوں پر پابندی عائد کی گئی ہے۔
ترجمان کے مطابق دفعہ 144 کا نفاذ امن و امان کے قیام، انسانی جانوں اور املاک کے تحفظ کیلئے کیا گیا۔
دفعہ 144 کے نفاذ کا فیصلہ کابینہ کمیٹی برائے امن و امان اور صوبائی انٹیلی جنس کمیٹی کی سفارش پر کیا گیا۔

A spokesperson for the Punjab Home Department said that all types of political protests, meetings, processions, rallies and sit-ins have been banned on February 8.
According to the spokesperson, Section 144 was imposed to maintain law and order and protect human lives and property.
The decision to impose Section 144 was taken on the recommendation of the Cabinet Committee on Law and Order and the Provincial Intelligence Committee.
