Administration’s stubbornness forces residents of Islamabad to drink unsafe water

اسلام آباد میں جہاں پانی نایاب ہوتا جارہا ہے وہیں پر دستیاب پانی بھی مضر صحت ہے اور شہری صاف پانی سے محروم ہیں۔
وفاقی دارالحکومت اسلام آباد کے 36 فلٹریشن پلانٹس، 42 فیصد واٹر ورکس اور 17 فیصد ٹیوب ویلز کا پانی مضر صحت ہونے کا انکشاف ہوا ہے۔
دنیا نیوز کو موصول ہونے والی دستاویزات کے مطابق شہر اقتدار کے 36 فلٹریشن پلانٹس کا پانی پینے کے لیے ٹھیک نہیں ہے، اس کے علاوہ 22 ٹیوب ویلز کا پانی مضر صحت ہے جبکہ اسلام آباد کے 12 آبی ذخائر میں سے 5 آبی ذخائر کا پانی بھی مضر صحت قرار دیا جا چکا ہے۔
دستاویزات کے مطابق سملی ڈیم ریزوائر، شہزاد ٹاؤن ٹینکی، شاہدرہ واٹر ورکس کا پانی ٹھیک نہیں ہے، اسلام آباد کے سیکٹر ایف کے 30 فیصد، سیکٹر ایچ کے 21 فیصد کے ٹیوب ویلز کا پانی صاف نہیں ہے، شہر کی سوسائیٹیز اور ٹاؤنز کے فلٹریشن پلانٹس کی کوالٹی سب سے زیادہ خراب ہے۔
سوسائیٹیز اور ٹاؤنز کے 68 فیصد فلٹریشن پلانٹس کا پانی مضر صحت ہے، سیکٹر آئی کے 40 فیصد، سیکٹر جی کے 27 فیصد فلٹریشن پلانٹس کا پانی خراب ہے۔
ڈاکٹرز کے مطابق خراب پانی کے پینے سے ہیپٹائٹس اے اور ای، ٹائیفائڈ، ڈائیریا، معدے کی بیماریاں، بیلو بے بی سینڈروم اور دیگر امراض لگتے ہیں۔
پاکستان کونسل آف ریسرچ آن واٹر ریسورس نے تجاویز دی ہیں کہ پانی کی کوالٹی کو برقرار رکھنے کے لیے آن لائن نگرانی کا سسٹم نصب کیا جائے، فلٹریشن پلانٹس، واٹر سپلائی سیکم اور ٹیوب ویلز کے آس پاس صفائی ستھرائی کا خاص خیال رکھا جائے۔
پاکستان کونسل آف ریسرچ آن واٹر ریسورس کی جانب سے مزید کہا گیا ہے کہ فلٹریشن پلانٹس کے پانی کے ٹریٹمنٹ والے آلات کو برقت تبدیل کیا جائے اور پبلک واٹر سپلائیز پر کلورینشن کو یقینی بنایا جائے۔

While water is becoming scarce in Islamabad, the available water is also unhealthy and citizens are deprived of clean water.

According to documents received by Dunya News, the water of 36 filtration plants in the city is not suitable for drinking, in addition, the water of 22 tube wells is unhealthy, while the water of 5 out of 12 water reservoirs in Islamabad has also been declared unhealthy.
According to the documents, the water of Simli Dam Reservoir, Shahzad Town Tank, Shahdara Water Works is not good, the water of 30 percent of tube wells in Sector F of Islamabad, 21 percent of Sector H is not clean, the quality of the filtration plants of the city’s societies and towns is the worst.
Water from 68 percent of filtration plants in societies and towns is unsafe, 40 percent of Sector I, 27 percent of Sector G filtration plants are unsafe.
According to doctors, drinking contaminated water causes hepatitis A and E, typhoid, diarrhea, gastrointestinal diseases, Bell’s baby syndrome and other diseases.
The Pakistan Council of Research on Water Resources has suggested that an online monitoring system be installed to maintain water quality, special care be taken to maintain cleanliness around filtration plants, water supply cecums and tube wells.
The Pakistan Council of Research on Water Resources has further said that the water treatment equipment of filtration plants should be replaced with electricity and chlorination should be ensured in public water supplies.
