خط میں کہا گیا ہے کہ وزارت پارلیمانی امور قانون سازی کیلئے حکومت اور الیکشن کمیشن کے مابین رابطہ چینل ہے، قائمہ کمیٹی صرف وزارتوں سے اخراجات طلب کر سکتی ہے۔الیکشن کمیشن کے مطابق سینیٹ قائمہ کمیٹی کو آئینی ادارہ ہونے کی وجہ سے اخراجات کی تفصیلات دینا منسوب نہیں، انتخابی اخراجات فیڈرل کنسلوٹیڈ فنڈز کے تحت لازمی اخراجات میں آتا ہے۔
الیکشن کمیشن کے مطابق کمیشن نے فیصلہ کیا کہ وہ قائمہ کمیٹی کو مطلوبہ معلومات فراہم کرنے کا پابند نہیں، انتخابی قانون اور آئینی دفعات میں معاونت کرسکتا ہے۔
