US companies should benefit from Pakistan’s mineral sector: Prime Minister

وزیر اعظم محمد شہباز شریف سے امریکی وفد نے ملاقات کی ہے جس میں معدنی شعبے میں سرمایہ کاری پر تبادلہ خیال کیا گیا۔
وفد کی قیادت سینئر بیورو آفیشل اور قائم مقام اسسٹنٹ سیکرٹری، بیورو آف ساؤتھ اینڈ سینٹرل ایشین افیئرز، یو ایس ڈیپارٹمنٹ آف سٹیٹ نے کی، وفد پاکستان منرلز انویسٹمنٹ فورم میں شرکت کے لیے پاکستان کا دورہ کر رہا ہے۔
وزیراعظم نے فورم میں امریکی شرکت کا خیرمقدم کرتے ہوئے اس بات پر زور دیا کہ پاکستان کے معدنیات کے شعبے میں وسیع استعداد موجود ہے اور امریکی کمپنیوں کو اس ترجیحی شعبے میں سرمایہ کاری کے مواقع سے مستفید ہونا چاہیے۔
دوطرفہ تناظر اور علاقائی امن و سلامتی کے حوالے سے پاکستان اور امریکا کے تعلقات کی اہمیت کو اجاگر کرتے ہوئے وزیراعظم نے امریکہ کے ساتھ دوطرفہ تعلقات کو مضبوط بنانے کے لیے صدر ٹرمپ اور ان کی انتظامیہ کے ساتھ مل کر کام کرنے کی پاکستان کی خواہش کا اظہار کیا۔
وزیر اعظم شہباز شریف نے تجارت اور سرمایہ کاری کے ساتھ ساتھ انسداد دہشت گردی سمیت باہمی دلچسپی کے شعبوں میں تعاون بڑھانے کی اہمیت پر بھی زور دیا۔
اس موقع پر قائم مقام اسسٹنٹ سیکرٹری میئر نے پاکستان منرل انویسٹمنٹ فورم کے کامیاب انعقاد پر پاکستان کو مبارکباد دی، انہوں نے پاکستان کے معدنیات کے شعبے کی وسیع استعداد کا اعتراف کیا اور امریکی کمپنیوں کی جانب سے اس شعبے میں سرمایہ کاری میں دلچسپی سے آگاہ کیا۔
قائم مقام اسسٹنٹ سیکرٹری میئر نے مشترکہ دلچسپی کے امور پر پاکستان کے ساتھ کام کرنے کی امریکی خواہش کا اظہار کرتے ہوئے کہا ہے کہ امریکہ پاکستان کے ساتھ دوطرفہ تعلقات کے مزید فروغ کا خواہاں ہے۔
نائب وزیراعظم و وزیر خارجہ محمد اسحاق ڈار، وفاقی وزیر اقتصادی امور احد خان چیمہ، وزیر پٹرولیم علی پرویز ملک، معاون خصوصی طارق فاطمی اور دیگر اعلیٰ سطح حکام بھی اس موقع پر موجود تھے۔

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has been called on by a US delegation to discuss investment in the minerals sector.
The delegation was led by Senior Bureau Official and Acting Assistant Secretary, Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs, US Department of State, and is visiting Pakistan to participate in the Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum.
The Prime Minister welcomed the US participation in the forum and emphasized that Pakistan has vast potential in the minerals sector and that US companies should benefit from investment opportunities in this priority sector.
Highlighting the importance of Pakistan-US relations in terms of bilateral context and regional peace and security, the Prime Minister expressed Pakistan’s desire to work closely with President Trump and his administration to strengthen bilateral relations with the US.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including counter-terrorism, along with trade and investment.
On this occasion, the Acting Assistant Secretary Mayor congratulated Pakistan on the successful holding of the Pakistan Mineral Investment Forum, acknowledged the vast potential of Pakistan’s mineral sector and informed about the interest of American companies in investing in this sector.
The Acting Assistant Secretary Mayor expressed the US desire to work with Pakistan on issues of common interest and said that the US is keen to further promote bilateral relations with Pakistan.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervez Malik, Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi and other high-level officials were also present on the occasion.
