Chinese hackers stole Americans’ metadata

چین کے ہیکرز نے بڑی تعداد میں امریکی شہریوں کا میٹا ڈیٹا چوری کرلیا۔
اعلیٰ امریکی عہدیدار نے دعویٰ کیا ہے کہ سالٹ ٹائی فون (Salt Typhoon) نامی چینی ہیکنگ گروپ کی سائبر جاسوسی مہم میں امریکیوں کا میٹا ڈیٹا چوری ہوا۔
وائٹ ہاؤس نے چینی ہیکنگ گروپ سے نمٹنا حکومت کی ترجیح قرار دے دیا۔
واضح رہے کہ رواں سال مارچ میں بھی امریکی محکمہ انصاف اور فیڈرل بیورو آف انویسٹیگیشن (ایف بی آئی) کی جانب سے یہ خبر سامنے آئی تھی کہ چین نے لاکھوں امریکی شہریوں کو آن لائن ہیکنگ کا نشانہ بنایا ہے۔
اس تناظر میں 7 چینی شہریوں پر مقدمات بھی قائم کیے گئے تھے، ان افراد پر الزام تھا کہ وہ امریکی حکام اور شہریوں کے خلاف ہیکنگ کی ایک ایسی مہم کا حصہ رہے جو 14 برس جاری رہی۔

A top US official has claimed that Americans’ metadata was stolen in a cyber espionage campaign by a Chinese hacking group called Salt Typhoon.
The White House has made tackling the Chinese hacking group a government priority.
It should be noted that in March of this year, the news was revealed by the US Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) that China has targeted millions of American citizens for online hacking.
In this context, cases were also instituted against 7 Chinese citizens, who were accused of being part of a hacking campaign against US officials and citizens that lasted for 14 years.
