Large-scale tree plantation begins in Punjab under Chief Minister’s Plant for Pakistan campaign

پنجاب میں “چیف منسٹر پلانٹ فار پاکستان” انیشیٹو کے تحت وسیع پیمانے پر شجرکاری مہم کا آغاز ہوگیا ہے جس کے تحت پنجاب میں 48,368 ایکڑ رقبے پر درخت لگائے جائیں گے۔
پنجاب کی سینیئر وزیر مریم اورنگزیب کا کہنا ہے کہ وزیر اعلیٰ مریم نواز کے مشن کے تحت 42.5 ملین پودے لگانے کا ہدف مقرر کیا گیا ہے جبکہ مالی سال 2024-25 میں 8,496 ایکڑ رقبے پر 7.361 ملین درخت لگانے کا منصوبہ ہے۔ اس مقصد کے لیے رواں مالی سال میں 1,800 ملین روپے مختص کیے گئے ہیں جن میں سے اب تک 1,085 ملین روپے خرچ کیے جا چکے ہیں جو کل بجٹ کا 60 فیصد بنتا ہے۔انہوں نے بتایا موسم بہار کے دوران 6,637 ایکڑ زمین پر 5.966 ملین درخت لگانے کا منصوبہ بنایا گیا ہے۔ اس مہم کے تحت لاہور، قصور، گوجرانوالہ، گجرات، مری، راولپنڈی، سرگودھا، مظفر گڑھ سمیت 300 سے زائد مقامات پر شجرکاری کی جا رہی ہے۔
پراجیکٹ میں سوہانجنا، چیڑ، نیم، کیکر، شیشم، سرس، بکائن، سمل، ارجن کے ساتھ ساتھ مختلف پھل دار درخت بھی شامل کیے گئے ہیں جو نہ صرف فضائی آلودگی میں کمی کا باعث بنیں گے بلکہ ماحولیاتی خوبصورتی میں بھی اضافہ کریں گے۔یہ منصوبہ مجموعی طور پر 8,000 ملین روپے کی لاگت سے مکمل کیا جائے گا جس کے تحت جنگلات، بیلا جات، نہروں کے کنارے، سڑکوں کے اطراف، پوٹھوہار کے پہاڑی علاقے، مری اور صحرائی خطوں کو سرسبز بنانے پر کام جاری ہے۔اب تک 4,000 ایکڑ رقبے پر 2.73 ملین پودے لگائے جا چکے ہیں، اور یہ منصوبہ تیزی سے آگے بڑھ رہا ہے۔
مریم اورنگزیب کا مزید کہنا تھا کہ یہ اقدامات نہ صرف ماحولیاتی تحفظ کے لیے اہم ہیں بلکہ آئندہ نسلوں کے لیے بھی ایک سرسبز اور صحت مند پنجاب کی بنیاد رکھیں گے۔

For this purpose, Rs 1,800 million has been allocated in the current financial year, out of which Rs 1,085 million has been spent so far, which is 60 percent of the total budget. She said that during the spring season, 5.966 million trees are planned to be planted on 6,637 acres of land. Under this campaign, tree plantation is being done at more than 300 locations including Lahore, Kasur, Gujranwala, Gujarat, Murree, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Muzaffargarh.
The project includes Suhanjana, Cheer, Neem, Kekar, Sheesham, Siras, Bukai, Samal, Arjun as well as various fruit trees, which will not only reduce air pollution but will also increase environmental beauty. This project will be completed at a total cost of Rs 8,000 million, under which work is underway to make forests, belajats, canal banks, roadsides, hilly areas of Pothohar, Murree and desert areas green. So far, 2.73 million saplings have been planted on an area of ​​4,000 acres, and this project is progressing rapidly.
Marriyum Aurangzeb further said that these measures are not only important for environmental protection but will also lay the foundation for a green and healthy Punjab for future generations.
