وزیر اعلیٰ پنجاب مریم نواز شریف نے کہا ہے کہ زمین صرف ہماری نہیں، آنے والی نسلوں کی بھی امانت ہے۔
ارتھ ڈے (Earth Day) پر اپنے پیغام میں وزیراعلیٰ مریم نواز شریف کا کہنا تھا کہ زمین کے تحفظ کیلئے ہمیں قدرتی وسائل اور درختوں کو بچانا ہے، زمین کو محفوظ بنانے کیلئےآلودگی اور موسمیاتی تبدیلیوں کے چیلنجز کا مقابلہ کرنا ہے۔
انہوں نے کہا کہ پنجاب حکومت قدرتی مسکن کی حفاظت کے مشن میں سب سے آگے ہے، حکومت پنجاب نے زمینی ماحولیاتی تحفظ کو اپنی پالیسی کا مرکزی حصہ بنایا ہے، زمین کے تحفظ کیلئے سرسبز پنجاب مہم کے تحت لاکھوں درخت لگائے جا چکے ہیں۔
ان کا کہنا تھا کہ پنجاب میں پاکستان کی پہلی سمارٹ انوائرمنٹ فورس قائم کر دی گئی ہے، کارخانوں کی نگرانی کی جا رہی ہے، فصلوں کی باقیات جلانے کی روک تھام کیلئے سپر سیڈر دیئے جا رہے ہیں۔
مریم نواز نے مزید کہا کہ پنجاب نے پاکستان کی پہلی جامع کلائمیٹ پالیسی متعارف کرائی ہے، صنعتی آلودگی پر قابو پانے کیلئے خودکار مانیٹرنگ سسٹم لا رہے ہیں، مل جل کر اپنی زمین کو بہتراور سرسبز بنانے کا عزم کرتے ہیں۔

In her message on Earth Day, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that to protect the earth, we have to save natural resources and trees, to make the earth safe, we have to confront the challenges of pollution and climate change.
She said that the Punjab government is at the forefront of the mission to protect the natural habitat, the Punjab government has made land environmental protection a central part of its policy, millions of trees have been planted under the Green Punjab campaign to protect the earth.
She said that Pakistan’s first smart environment force has been established in Punjab, factories are being monitored, super-seeders are being given to prevent crop residue burning.
Maryam Nawaz further said that Punjab has introduced Pakistan’s first comprehensive climate policy, an automatic monitoring system is being introduced to control industrial pollution, and we are determined to make our earth better and greener together.
