Women’s education is close to my heart: Lt Gen Nigar Johar

لیفٹیننٹ جنرل نگار جوہر کا کہنا ہے کہ خواتین کی تعلیم میرے دل کے قریب ہے۔
اسلام آباد میں لڑکیوں کی تعلیم سے متعلق کانفرنس سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے انہوں نے کہا کہ میں ایسے معاشرے میں بڑی ہوئی جہاں صنفی تفریق ہے، یہاں لڑکیوں کی تعلیم کو پس پشت ڈال دیا جاتا تھا۔
لیفٹیننٹ جنرل نگار جوہر کا کہنا ہے کہ تعلیم کے ہنر کے باعث آج میں یہاں آپ کے سامنے موجود ہوں، بطور فوجی میں نے ملک کی خدمت کی، خواتین کی تعلیم کے لیے چیلنجز بہت ہیں لیکن ساتھ ہی مواقع بہت زیادہ ہیں۔
نگار جوہر نے کہا کہ خواتین کی تعلیم قومی بجٹ اور قومی پالیسی میں ترجیح ہونی چاہیے، ہمیں لڑکیوں کی تعلیم کے لیے معاشرے کے رویے کو چیلنج کرنا ہو گا۔
ان کا یہ بھی کہنا ہے کہ ہمیں فیصلہ اور پالیسی سازی میں خواتین کو شامل کرنا ہوگا۔

Addressing a conference on girls’ education in Islamabad, she said that I grew up in a society where there is gender discrimination, where girls’ education was neglected.
Lieutenant General Nigar Johar says that I am here in front of you today because of the skill of education, as a soldier I served the country, there are many challenges for women’s education but at the same time there are many opportunities.
Nigar Johar said that women’s education should be a priority in the national budget and national policy, we have to challenge the society’s attitude towards girls’ education.
They also say that we have to involve women in decision making and policy making.
