NTDC organizes seminar on “Project Management and Conflict Resolution”
نیشنل ٹرانسمیشن اینڈ ڈسپیچ کمپنی (این ٹی ڈی سی) کے زیر اہتمام “پراجیکٹ مینجمنٹ اور تنازعات کے حل” کے موضوع پر لاہور کے ایک ہوٹل میں آج سیمینار کا انعقاد کیا گیا۔ اس سیمینار میں اٹلی سے تعلق رکھنے والے ممتاز بین الاقوامی ماہر ڈاکٹر رومانو ایلیونے (Dr. Romano Allione) نے شرکت کی اور شرکا کو پراجیکٹ مینجمنٹ سے متعلق موثر حکمت عملی اور تنازعات کے حل کے طریقہ کار پر ایک جامع پریزنٹیشن دی۔
ڈاکٹر رومانو ایلیونے تربیلا ڈیم منصوبے میں پراجیکٹ منیجر اور ڈی آر بی ایف اور فیڈک ایڈجوڈیکیشن کے چارٹرڈ ممبر کے طور پر خدمات انجام دے چکے ہیں۔ اس موقع پر چیئرمین بورڈ آف ڈائریکٹرز این ٹی ڈی سی ڈاکٹر فیاض احمد چوہدری، منیجنگ ڈائریکٹر انجینئر محمد وسیم یونس بھی موجود تھے۔ سیمینار میں جنرل منیجرز اور چیف انجینئرز سمیت این ٹی ڈی سی کے افسران کی بڑی تعداد نے شرکت کی۔
ڈاکٹر رومانو ایلیونے نے اپنی پریزنٹیشن کے دوران تربیلا ڈیم اور دنیا بھر میں دیگر منصوبوں پر کام کے دوران ہونے والے اپنے تجربات بیان کیے اور ان منصوبوں کی تعمیر کے دوران پیش آنے والے چیلنجز کے بارے میں آگہی دی۔ انہوں نے خاص طور پر شیڈول کے مطابق منصوبوں کی تکمیل اور وسائل کے بہتر استعمال کیلئے مؤثر پراجیکٹ مینجمنٹ، اونرشپ اور مناسب وقت پر فیصلہ کرنے کی اہمیت کو اجاگر کیا۔ انہوں نے تنازعات سے بچنے کے لیے اقدامات کی اہمیت پر بھی زور دیا اور تنازعات کے فیصلوں سے متعلق معاہدے کی اہم شقوں کی بھی وضاحت کی۔
اس موقع پر چیئرمین بورڈ ڈاکٹر فیاض احمد چوہدری نے بھی پراجیکٹ مینجمنٹ سے متعلق اپنے خیالات کا اظہار کیا اور کہا کہ منصوبوں کی بروقت تکمیل کے لیے مناسب ہوم ورک ناگزیر ہے۔ انہوں نے ڈاکٹر رومانو کی مہارت کی تعریف کی اور کہا کہ این ٹی ڈی سی افسران لیکچر کے دوران پیش کئے گئے طریقہ کار کو پراجیکٹ مینجمنٹ کے اصولوں میں شامل کریں۔ منیجنگ ڈائریکٹر، انجینئر محمد وسیم یونس نے بھی ڈاکٹر رومانو کی خدمات کو سراہا اور کہا کہ این ٹی ڈی سی افسران کو ان کے تجربات سے فائدہ اٹھانا چاہئے۔
جنرل منیجر ہیومن ریسورس انجینئر سہیل ممتاز باجوہ نے شرکا کو اپنے تجربات سے آگاہ کرنے پر ڈاکٹر رومانو ایلیونے کا شکریہ ادا کیا۔ لیکچر کے بعد سوال و جواب کا ایک سیشن ہوا جس دوران ڈاکٹر رومانو ایلیونے نے شرکاء کے سوالات کے تسلی بخش جوابات دیئے۔ آخر میں ڈاکٹر رومانو ایلیونے کو ان کی خدمات کے اعتراف میں یادگاری شیلڈ بھی پیش کی گئی۔ پراجیکٹ مینجمنٹ کے ماہر انجینئر معین الدین شیخ نے بھی سیمینار میں شرکت کی۔
A seminar on “Project Management and Dispute Resolution” was organized by the National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC) at a hotel in Lahore today. Dr. Romano Allione, a prominent international expert from Italy, participated in the seminar and gave a comprehensive presentation to the participants on effective project management strategies and dispute resolution methods.
Dr. Romano Allione has served as the Project Manager of the Tarbela Dam project and a chartered member of DRBF and FEDEC Adjudication. Chairman Board of Directors NTDC Dr. Fayyaz Ahmed Chaudhry, Managing Director Engineer Muhammad Waseem Younis were also present on the occasion. A large number of NTDC officers including General Managers and Chief Engineers attended the seminar.
Dr. Romano Illone, during his presentation, shared his experiences while working on Tarbela Dam and other projects around the world and highlighted the challenges faced during the construction of these projects. He particularly highlighted the importance of effective project management, ownership and timely decision-making for the timely completion of projects and better utilization of resources. He also stressed the importance of measures to avoid disputes and explained the important clauses of the agreement regarding dispute resolution.
On this occasion, Chairman Board Dr. Fayyaz Ahmed Chaudhry also expressed his views on project management and said that proper homework is essential for the timely completion of projects. He appreciated Dr. Romano’s expertise and said that NTDC officers should incorporate the methodology presented during the lecture into the principles of project management. Managing Director, Engineer Muhammad Waseem Younis also appreciated Dr. Romano’s services and said that NTDC officers should benefit from his experiences.
General Manager Human Resources Engineer Sohail Mumtaz Bajwa thanked Dr. Romano Illone for sharing his experiences with the participants. After the lecture, a question and answer session was held during which Dr. Romano Illone gave satisfactory answers to the questions of the participants. Finally, a commemorative shield was presented to Dr. Romano Illone in recognition of his services. Engineer Moinuddin Sheikh, an expert in project management, also participated in the seminar.
