ترجمان پولیس کے مطابق بازیاب مغوی کی شناخت انتظار پنجوتھا کے نام سے ہوئی ہے، جو بانی پی ٹی آئی کے وکیل بھی ہیں۔ ترجمان پولیس کے مطابق پولیس نے حسن ابدال میں ناکہ بندی پر مشکوک گاڑی کو روکا، جس میں اغوا کار گینگ ایک مغوی کو لے جارہا تھا۔
ترجمان پولیس کے مطابق گاڑی میں سوار اغواکاروں نے پولیس پر اندھادھند فائرنگ شروع کردی، جوابی فائرنگ پر وہ مغوی اور گاڑی کو چھوڑ کر فرار ہوگئے۔
