Decision to transform Punjab villages into modern ‘model villages’

پنجاب حکومت نے صوبے کے دیہی علاقوں کی تقدیر بدلنے کے لیے “ماڈل ویلج پروجیکٹ” کے تحت 2400 دیہاتوں کو سٹیٹ آف دی آرٹ ماڈل ویلجز میں تبدیل کرنے کا فیصلہ کر لیا۔وزیر اعلیٰ پنجاب مریم نواز شریف نے اس اہم منصوبے کی منظوری دے دی جبکہ وزیر بلدیات ذیشان رفیق کو اس منصوبے کی نگرانی اور عملی نفاذ کی ذمہ داری سونپی گئی ہے۔
ذرائع کے مطابق لاہور سمیت پنجاب کے 800 دیہاتوں کو ماڈل ویلجز بنانے کے لیے پنجاب حکومت فنڈز فراہم کرے گی جبکہ باقی 1600 دیہاتوں کے لیے ورلڈ بینک سے مالی معاونت حاصل کی جائے گی، اس منصوبے کے لیے آئندہ مالی سال کے بجٹ میں باقاعدہ فنڈز مختص کیے جائیں گے۔
ماڈل ویلج میں دستیاب سہولیات
ذرائع کے مطابق ماڈل ویلجز میں عالمی معیار کے مطابق پختہ گلیوں کی تعمیر، صفائی و ستھرائی اور جدید سینیٹیشن نظام، واٹر سپلائی لائنز اور پینے کے صاف پانی کی فراہمی، سٹریٹ لائٹس کی تنصیب اور دیگر بنیادی بلدیاتی سہولیات فراہم کی جائیں گی
حکومتی ذرائع کا کہنا ہے کہ منصوبہ مرحلہ وار مکمل کیا جائے گا اور ہدف ہے کہ پنجاب کے 60 فیصد سے زائد دیہاتوں کو جدید ماڈل ویلجز میں تبدیل کیا جائے، یہ منصوبہ نہ صرف دیہی علاقوں میں معیارِ زندگی کو بہتر بنائے گا بلکہ مقامی معیشت، صحت و صفائی، اور انفراسٹرکچر کی ترقی میں بھی اہم کردار ادا کرے گا۔

The Punjab government has decided to transform 2,400 villages into state-of-the-art model villages under the “Model Village Project” to change the fate of the rural areas of the province. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif approved this important project, while Local Government Minister Zeeshan Rafique has been entrusted with the responsibility of monitoring and practical implementation of the project.
According to sources, the Punjab government will provide funds to make 800 villages of Punjab, including Lahore, into model villages, while financial assistance will be obtained from the World Bank for the remaining 1,600 villages. Regular funds will be allocated for this project in the budget of the next fiscal year.
Facilities available in the model village
According to sources, the model villages will provide world-class paved streets, cleanliness and modern sanitation systems, water supply lines and provision of clean drinking water, installation of street lights and other basic local government facilities.
Government sources say that the project will be completed in phases and the target is to convert more than 60 percent of the villages of Punjab into modern model villages. This project will not only improve the quality of life in rural areas but will also play an important role in the development of the local economy, health and sanitation, and infrastructure.
