Punjab: After cars, fitness certificate now mandatory for motorcycles

پنجاب میں گاڑیوں کے بعد اب موٹر سائیکلوں کیلئے بھی فٹنس سرٹیفکیٹ لازمی قرار دینے کا فیصلہ کیا گیا ہے۔
حکومت پنجاب نے سموگ کی روک تھام کیلئے آرڈیننس میں ترامیم کا فیصلہ کرلیا، جس کے تحت گاڑیوں کےبعد اب موٹر سائیکلوں کےلیے بھی فٹنس سرٹیفکیٹ لینا لازم ہوگا۔ صوبائی موٹرگاڑیاں ترمیم ایکٹ2025 کے نام سے پنجاب اسمبلی میں جمع کردیا گیا، ایکٹ کے تحت صوبائی موٹرگاڑیاں آرڈیننس1965میں ترامیم کی جائیں گی۔بل کے متن کے مطابق شق 38اے میں جہاں گاڑی ہے،اس کے ساتھ موٹرسائیکل کا لفظ شمار کیا جائے، موٹرسائیکل کیلئے فٹس سرٹیفکیٹ لینا لازم ہواس لیے ترمیم ضرورت ہے۔ فٹنس سرٹیفکیٹ کی معیاد ایک سال تک ہوگی، پنجاب 85 فیصد بطور سواری موٹر سائیکل استعمال ہوتی ہے۔
فٹنس سرٹیفکیٹ رجیم کا دائرہ کار بڑھانے کیلئے ترمیم ضرورت ہے، فٹنس سرٹیفکیٹ سے ائیر کوالٹی پر بھی قابو پایا جاتا ہے۔

After cars, it has been decided to make fitness certificates mandatory for motorcycles in Punjab.
The Punjab government has decided to amend the ordinance to prevent smog, under which after cars, it will now be mandatory for motorcycles to get a fitness certificate. It was submitted to the Punjab Assembly in the name of Provincial Motor Vehicles Amendment Act 2025, under the act, amendments will be made to the Provincial Motor Vehicles Ordinance 1965. According to the text of the bill, in Section 38A, wherever there is a vehicle, the word motorcycle should be counted with it, it has become mandatory to get a fitness certificate for motorcycles, hence the amendment is needed. The validity of the fitness certificate will be up to one year, Punjab uses 85 percent motorcycles as a means of transportation.
Amendment is needed to expand the scope of the fitness certificate regime, air quality is also controlled through fitness certificates.
