امریکی صدر ڈونلڈ ٹرمپ کی انتظامیہ نے ایران کے خلاف جنگ پر تنقیدی رپورٹنگ کرنے والے نشریاتی اداروں کو لائسنس منسوخ کرنے کی دھمکی دے دی۔

فیڈرل کمیونیکیشنز کمیشن (ایف سی سی) کے چیئرمین برینڈن کار نے حال ہی میں سوشل میڈیا پر بیان دیتے ہوئے کہا ہے کہ نشریاتی اداروں کو عوامی مفاد میں کام کرنا ہو گا، بصورت دیگر انہیں اپنے لائسنس سے ہاتھ دھونا پڑ سکتا ہے۔ یہ بیان برینڈن کار کی جانب سے حالیہ دنوں میں دی جانے والی دھمکیوں کا تسلسل ہے، جن پر ناقدین کا کہنا ہے کہ وہ میڈیا کو ٹرمپ انتظامیہ کی پالیسیوں کے مطابق چلنے پر دباؤ ڈال رہے ہیں۔
گزشتہ برس بھی انہوں نے ٹی وی چینل اے بی سی اور اس کے ڈسٹری بیوٹرز سے مطالبہ کیا تھا کہ وہ کامیڈین جمی کمل کے خلاف کارروائی کریں، جن کے پروگرام میں صدر ٹرمپ پر تنقید کی جاتی تھی۔

یہ پیش رفت اس وقت سامنے آئی جب صدر ٹرمپ نے بذریعہ سوشل میڈیا سعودی عرب میں ایرانی حملے کے دوران امریکی فضائیہ کے ری فیولنگ طیارے تباہ ہونے کی خبر دینے پر میڈیا کو تنقید کا نشانہ بنایا۔
ٹرمپ نے اپنے بیان میں کہا کہ اڈے پر چند روز قبل حملہ ضرور ہوا، لیکن طیارے نہ تو تباہ ہوئے اور نہ ہی شدید نقصان پہنچا۔ ان کے مطابق 5 میں سے 4 طیارے تقریباً محفوظ رہے اور دوبارہ سروس میں شامل ہو چکے ہیں۔ انہوں نے اس کے برعکس رپورٹنگ کو جان بوجھ کر گمراہ کن قرار دیتے ہوئے کہا کہ بعض میڈیا ادارے چاہتے ہیں کہ امریکا جنگ ہار جائے۔
خیال رہے کہ صدر ٹرمپ اور ان کے اتحادیوں پر یہ الزامات عائد کیے جا رہے ہیں کہ وہ ریاستی طاقت کا استعمال اختلافی آوازوں اور تنقیدی صحافت کو دبانے کے لیے کر رہے ہیں، جس سے آزادیِ صحافت پر خدشات بڑھ گئے ہیں۔
واضح رہے کہ میڈیا رپورٹس کے مطابق 28 فروری کو امریکا اور اسرائیل کی جانب سے شروع کی گئی یہ جنگ امریکی عوام میں غیر مقبول ہے۔
ایک حالیہ سروے کے مطابق 53 فیصد ووٹرز ایران کے خلاف فوجی کارروائی کی مخالفت کرتے ہیں، جن میں 89 فیصد ڈیموکریٹس اور 60 فیصد آزاد ووٹرز شامل ہیں۔
قانونی ماہرین نے بھی اس جنگ کو بین الاقوامی قوانین کی خلاف ورزی قرار دیا ہے، کیونکہ یہ بلااشتعال حملوں کی ممانعت کرتے ہیں، تاہم صدر ٹرمپ مختلف مواقع پر اس جنگ کے جواز کے حوالے سے متضاد بیانات دیتے رہے ہیں۔
