Prime Minister’s meeting with Bill Gates

وزیر اعظم محمد شہباز شریف سے اقوام متحدہ کی جنرل اسمبلی (UNGA 2024) کے 79ویں اجلاس کے موقع پر بل اینڈ میلنڈا گیٹس فاؤنڈیشن (BMGF) کے بانی اور شریک چیئرمین بل گیٹس نے ملاقات کی۔
بل گیٹس کے دورہ پاکستان کا ذکر کرتے ہوئے وزیر اعظم شہباز شریف نے دسمبر 2024 میں سیٹل (Seattle) میں گیٹس فاؤنڈیشن کے دورے کی دعوت پر ان کا شکریہ ادا کیا۔
وزیرِ اعظم نے پولیو کے خاتمے، ماں اور بچے کی صحت، غذائیت، حفاظتی ٹیکوں، ڈیجیٹلائزیشن، اور مالی شمولیت کے لیے گیٹس فاؤنڈیشن کے پاکستان کے ساتھ تعاون کو بھی سراہا، انہوں نے ملک سے پولیو کے مکمل خاتمے کو یقینی بنانے کے لیے پاکستان کے غیر متزلزل عزم کا اعادہ کیا۔
شہباز شریف نے اس کوشش میں دیرینہ تعاون پر BMGF کا شکریہ ادا کیا اور پاکستان میں صحت کے نظام کی مضبوطی اور ماں اور بچے کی غذائیت کے لیے مسلسل کوششوں اور تعاون کی ضرورت پر زور دیا۔
پاکستان کی پولیو کے خاتمے کیلئے کوششوں کا اعتراف کرتے ہوئے بل گیٹس نے زور دیا کہ پولیو کا خاتمہ آئندہ نسلوں کو اس مہلک بیماری سے بچانے کے لیے بہت ضروری ہے، بل گیٹس نے ملک بھر میں پولیو ویکسین پروگرام میں وزیر اعظم کی ذاتی نگرانی اور صوبائی حکومتوں کے اقدامات کی تعریف کی۔

Bill Gates, founder and co-chairman of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) met Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on the occasion of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 2024).
Referring to the visit of Bill Gates to Pakistan, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif thanked him for the invitation to visit the Gates Foundation in Seattle in December 2024.
The Prime Minister also appreciated the Gates Foundation’s collaboration with Pakistan for polio eradication, maternal and child health, nutrition, immunization, digitization, and financial inclusion. He reiterated his unwavering commitment.
Shahbaz Sharif thanked the BMGF for its longstanding support in this effort and emphasized the need for continued efforts and support for strengthening the health system and maternal and child nutrition in Pakistan.
Acknowledging Pakistan’s efforts to eradicate polio, Bill Gates emphasized that eradication of polio is very important to protect the future generations from this deadly disease. Appreciated the initiatives of the provincial governments.
