This surprising incident happened in Malangin Fjord, Norway. According to the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation, a fisherman named Harald Ingen was on his way to deliver halibut caught in a hunt near his home when he received an unusual message.
It was reported that the submarine’s propellers caught in its net and dragged it 2 nautical miles away, the USS Virginia, a 377-foot nuclear-powered American submarine, headed for the Norwegian port of Tromsø.
The Norwegian Coast Guard confirmed that one of their vessels helped to pull the submarine out by cutting the net. A US military spokesman also confirmed the incident.
