کملا ہیرس نے اگلے دن جعمرات کو ان واقعات کی مذمت کی اور مظاہرین کی جانب سے امریکی پرچم کو جلانے کا واقعہ قابل نفرت اور حب الوطنی سے عاری حرکت قرار دیا۔ فلسطینی حامی مظاہرین نے خود کو امریکی پرچم کو آگ لگانے کے واقعے سے خود کو الگ اور دور رکھا ہے اور کہا ہے کہ یہ غزہ کے بحران سے توجہ ہٹانے کے لیے کیا گیا۔
