واشنگٹن:امریکی وزارت خارجہ کی پریس بریفنگ میں سعودی عرب کے وزیر خارجہ فیصل بن فرحان کے دورۂ پاکستان اور آزادی اظہار رائے سے متعلق صحافیوں کے سوالات کے جوابات دیے۔امریکی وزارت خارجہ کے ترجمان میتھیو ملر سے ایک صحافی نے سوال کیا کہ سعودی وزیر خارجہ اس وقت پاکستان کے دورے پر ہیں۔ پاکستان اور سعودی عرب سے امریکا مشرق وسطیٰ کے حالات کو بہتر بنانے کے لیے کیا کچھ کرنے کی توقع کرتا ہے اور کیا اسرائیل کو قبول کرنے والے یہ ممالک کوئی تعمیری کردار ادا کریں گے اگر ان کا واحد مطالبہ آزاد فلسطین ریاست کا قیام ہو جس کی حمایت جوبائیڈن انتظامیہ بھی حمایت کرتی ہے۔اس سوال کے جواب میں امریکی وزارت خارجہ کے ترجمان میتھیو ملر نے کہا کہ سعودی وزیر خارجہ کے دورۂ پاکستان پر کوئی بات نہیں کروں گا لیکن یہ بتانا چاہتا ہوں کہ وزیر خارجہ انٹونی بلنکن نے اپنے سعودی ہم منصب سے گزشتہ ہفتے ٹیلی فون پر بات کی تھی۔امریکی ترجمان کے بقول اس ٹیلی فونک گفتگو میں دونوں رہنماؤں نے فلسطین میں کشیدگی کے فوری خاتمے اور طویل مدتی بنیادوں پر دو ریاستی حل کے لیے ایک ساتھ کام جاری رکھنے پر اتفاق کیا ہے۔صحافی نے پاکستانی صحافی حامد میر کے حوالہ دیتے ہوئے 5 ججوں کے استعفیٰ اور آزاد صحافت سے متعلق سوال کیا جس پر امریکی ترجمان نے کہا کہ ہم پاکستان میں قانون کی حکمرانی اور آزادیٔ اظہار رائے کی حمایت کرتے آئے ہیں اور اس پالیسی میں کوئی تبدیلی نہیں ہوگی۔
