Punjab decides to change 125-year-old criminal laws

پنجاب میں سوا سو سال پرانے فوجداری قوانین کو تبدیل کرنے کا فیصلہ کر لیا گیا۔
ترجمان محکمۂ داخلہ پنجاب کے مطابق قوانین تبدیل کرنے کے لیے قانونی اصلاحات کمیٹی تشکیل دی گئی ہے جس کا نوٹیفکیشن بھی جاری کر دیا گیا ہے۔
ڈی آئی جی کامران عادل کمیٹی کے سربراہ جبکہ ایڈیشنل سیکریٹری محکمۂ داخلہ عمران حسین سیکریٹری ہوں گے۔
یہ قانونی اصلاحات کمیٹی 3 ماہ میں رپورٹ محکمۂ داخلہ کو پیش کرے گی۔
ترجمان کے مطابق کمیٹی فوجداری قوانین کو جدید اور مؤثر بنانے کے لیے سفارشات پیش کرے گی، کمیٹی ضابطہ فوجداری 1898ء، تعزیراتِ پاکستان 1860ء میں ترامیم کا مسودہ تیار کرے گی۔
کمیٹی قانون شہادت آرڈر 1984ء میں ترامیم اور قومی سلامتی کے قانون کا مسودہ تیار کرے گی۔
ترجمان کے مطابق جرائم کی روک تھام، قانون کے مؤثر نفاذ امنِ عامہ کی بحالی سے متعلق قانونی اصلاحات لائی جائیں گی۔
کمیٹی پنجاب میں خصوصاً خواتین اور بچوں کے تحفظ، انسدادِ دہشت گردی، سائبر کرائم، سائبر سیکیورٹی، بین الصوبائی رابطہ سے متعلق قوانین میں ترامیم تجویز کرے گی۔
یہ کمیٹی جدید سائنسی تکنیک، قوانین اور معاشرتی تقاضوں سے ہم آہنگ ترامیم تجویز کرے گی۔

It has been decided to change the 150-year-old criminal laws in Punjab.
According to the spokesperson of the Punjab Home Department, a legal reforms committee has been formed to change the laws, the notification of which has also been issued.
DIG Kamran Adil will be the head of the committee, while Additional Secretary of the Home Department Imran Hussain will be the secretary.
This legal reforms committee will submit a report to the Home Department within 3 months.
According to the spokesperson, the committee will make recommendations to make criminal laws modern and effective. The committee will prepare draft amendments to the Criminal Code 1898 and the Pakistan Penal Code 1860.
The committee will prepare amendments to the Qanun Shahadat Order 1984 and a draft of the National Security Law.
According to the spokesperson, legal reforms related to crime prevention, effective enforcement of law and restoration of public order will be brought.
The committee will propose amendments to the laws of Punjab, especially those related to the protection of women and children, counter-terrorism, cybercrime, cyber security, and inter-provincial coordination.
This committee will propose amendments in line with modern scientific techniques, laws, and social requirements.
