Pakistani delegation meets Speaker of House of Commons, apprised about Indian aggression

سابق وزیر خارجہ و چیئرمین پاکستان پیپلز پارٹی بلاول بھٹو زرداری کی قیادت میں ایک اعلیٰ سطح کے پاکستانی پارلیمانی وفد نے لندن میں ہاؤس آف کامنز کے سپیکر سر لنزے ہوئل سے ملاقات کی۔بلاول بھٹو زرداری نے سپیکر کو پہلگام واقعے کے بعد خطے میں بگڑتی ہوئی سکیورٹی صورتحال سے آگاہ کیااورہندوستان کی جانب سے پاکستان پر لگائے گئے بے بنیاد اور من گھڑت الزامات پر پاکستان کے شدید تحفظات کا اظہار کیا جو کسی مستند تحقیقات کے بغیر عائد کیے گئے ہیں۔
انہوں نے بھارت کی جانب سے بعد ازاں کی گئی بلااشتعال فوجی کارروائیوں کی طرف توجہ دلائی، جن کا نشانہ معصوم پاکستانی شہری، خواتین اور بچے بنے، اس کے ساتھ ساتھ انہوں نے سندھ طاس معاہدے کو معطل کرنے کے بھارتی اقدام کو بھی اُجاگر کیا، جو بین الاقوامی قوانین اور بین الریاستی اصولوں کی سنگین خلاف ورزی ہے۔
چیئرمین پاکستان پیپلزپارٹی نے پاکستان کے اصولی موقف امن اور ذمہ داری، کو اجاگر کرتے ہوئے امن، علاقائی استحکام اور کثیرالجہتی تعاون کے لیے پاکستان کے عزم کا اعادہ کیا اور اس بات پر زور دیا کہ جنوبی ایشیا میں پائیدار امن کا قیام مسئلہ جموں و کشمیر کے منصفانہ اور پرامن حل کے بغیر ممکن نہیں اور یہ حل اقوام متحدہ کے چارٹر اور سلامتی کونسل کی متعلقہ قراردادوں کے مطابق ہونا چاہیے۔دوسری جانب وفد نے ہندوستان کی جانب سے یکطرفہ سندھ طاس معاہدے کو معطل کرنے کے سنگین انسانی نتائج کی طرف بھی ہاؤس آف کامنز کے سپیکر کی توجہ دلائی اور خبردار کیا کہ ہندوستان پانی کو بطور ہتھیار استعمال کر کے ایک خطرناک مثال قائم کر رہا ہے۔
وفد نے اس بات پر زور دیا کہ بھارت کی بلااشتعال جارحیت کو معمول نہیں بننے دینا چاہیے کیونکہ یہ نیا معمول عالمی قوانین پر مبنی نظام کو کمزور کرے گا، انہوں نے اس بات پر بھی زور دیا کہ بین الاقوامی معاہدوں کا احترام کیا جانا چاہیے۔وفد سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے سپیکر سر لنزے ہوئل نے پاکستان اور برطانیہ کے درمیان طویل المدتی اور خوشگوار تعلقات کا اعادہ کیا جو کئی دہائیوں پر محیط ہیں، انہوں نے برطانوی معاشرے میں پاکستانی کمیونٹی کی خدمات کو سراہا اور خطے میں امن اور استحکام کے فروغ کے لیے برطانوی حکومت کے عزم کو دہرایا۔
سابق وزیر خارجہ اور چیئرمین پاکستان پیپلز پارٹی بلاول بھٹو زرداری کی سربراہی میں اعلیٰ سطح کے پاکستانی پارلیمانی وفد میں وفاقی وزیر برائے ماحولیاتی تبدیلی ڈاکٹر مصدق ملک، چیئرپرسن سینیٹ قائمہ کمیٹی برائے ماحولیاتی تبدیلی اور سابق وفاقی وزیر برائے اطلاعات سینیٹر شیری رحمان شامل تھے ۔
علاوہ ازیں قومی اسمبلی کی قائمہ کمیٹی برائے خارجہ امور کی چیئرپرسن حنا ربانی کھر، سابق وفاقی وزیر برائے تجارت و دفاع انجینئر خرم دستگیر خان، ایم کیو ایم کے پارلیمانی لیڈر برائے سینیٹ اور سابق وزیر برائے بحری امور سینیٹر سید فیصل علی سبزواری، سینیٹر بشریٰ انجم بٹ، سابق سیکرٹری خارجہ جلیل عباس جیلانی اور تہمینہ جنجوعہ اور برطانیہ میں پاکستانی ہائی کمشنر ڈاکٹر فیصل بھی اس موقع پر موجود تھے۔

A high-level Pakistani parliamentary delegation led by former Foreign Minister and Chairman Pakistan People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari met with Speaker of the House of Commons Sir Lindsay Hoyle in London. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari apprised the Speaker of the deteriorating security situation in the region following the Pahalgam incident and expressed Pakistan’s strong reservations over the baseless and fabricated allegations levelled against Pakistan by India without any credible investigation.
He drew attention to the subsequent unprovoked military operations by India, which targeted innocent Pakistani civilians, women and children, and also highlighted India’s move to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty, which is a serious violation of international law and inter-state norms.
The Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party, while highlighting Pakistan’s principled stance of peace and responsibility, reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to peace, regional stability and multilateral cooperation and stressed that the establishment of lasting peace in South Asia is not possible without a just and peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir issue and this resolution should be in accordance with the United Nations Charter and relevant Security Council resolutions. On the other hand, the delegation also drew the attention of the Speaker of the House of Commons to the serious humanitarian consequences of India’s unilateral suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty and warned that India was setting a dangerous precedent by using water as a weapon.

The delegation stressed that India’s unprovoked aggression should not be allowed to become the norm as this new norm would undermine the international rules-based system, they also stressed that international agreements should be respected. Speaking to the delegation, Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle reiterated the long-standing and cordial relations between Pakistan and the UK that spanned decades, he appreciated the contributions of the Pakistani community in British society and reiterated the British government’s commitment to promoting peace and stability in the region.
The high-level Pakistani parliamentary delegation, led by former Foreign Minister and Chairman Pakistan People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, included Federal Minister for Climate Change Dr. Mosaddiq Malik, Chairperson Senate Standing Committee on Climate Change and former Federal Minister for Information Senator Sherry Rehman.
In addition, Chairperson of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar, former Federal Minister for Commerce and Defense Engineer Khurram Dastgir Khan, MQM Parliamentary Leader in the Senate and former Minister for Maritime Affairs Senator Syed Faisal Ali Sabzwari, Senator Bushra Anjum Butt, former Foreign Secretaries Jalil Abbas Jilani and Tehmina Janjua, and Pakistani High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Dr. Faisal were also present on the occasion.
