Multan: Gas tanker explodes, 6 killed, 30 injured

ملتان میں گیس سے بھرے ٹینکر کو آگ لگنے سے 6 افراد جاں بحق اور 30 زخمی ہوگئے جبکہ متعدد افراد کی حالت تشویشناک ہے۔ڈسٹرکٹ ریسکیو آفیسر کے مطابق واقعہ فہد ٹاؤن میں پیش آیا، گیس سے بھرا ٹینکر آگ لگنے سے پھٹ گیا، آگ بجھانے کیلئے ریسکیو کی 16 گاڑیوں نے آپریشن میں حصہ لیا، مظفر گڑھ اور خانیوال سے بھی فائر ٹینڈرز طلب کئے گئے۔
زور دار دھماکوں کی آوازیں دور دور تک سنی گئیں جس کے باعث شہری شدید خوف میں مبتلا ہوگئے۔
عینی شاہدین کے مطابق ٹینکر میں آگ لگنے کی وجہ سے دھماکہ ہوا، آگ والے ٹکڑے مقامی آبادی کے گھروں پر جا کر گرے جس سے گھروں کی چھتیں متاثر ہوئیں۔
کمشنر ملتان کے مطابق فہد ٹاؤن میں موجود تمام افراد کو ریسکیو کر لیا گیا، جاں بحق اور زخمیوں کو فوری طور پر نشتر ہسپتال منتقل کر دیا گیا، متعدد کی حالت تشویشناک بتائی گئی ہے۔
مقامی انتظامیہ کے مطابق علاقے میں بجلی کی سپلائی اور گیس کی فراہمی بند کر دی گئی۔ملتان میں سلنڈر دھماکوں کا مقدمہ تھانہ مظفر آباد میں درج کر لیا گیا، کمشنر کی سربراہی میں واقعہ کی تحقیقات کیلئے کمیٹی بھی تشکیل دے دی گئی۔
صدر مملکت آصف علی زرداری اور وزیراعظم شہباز شریف نے ملتان میں گیس ٹینکر پھٹنے سے شہریوں کی اموات پر اظہار افسوس کیا ہے اور جاں بحق افراد کے اہل خانہ کے ساتھ اظہار ہمدردی اور زخمیوں کی جلد صحتیابی کیلئے دعا کی۔
وزیراعظم نے گیس ٹینکر پھٹنے کی وجوہات جاننے اور مستقبل میں ایسے واقعات کی روک تھام کی ہدایت کی ہے۔

Six people were killed and 30 injured in a gas tanker fire in Multan, while the condition of several people is critical. According to the District Rescue Officer, the incident took place in Fahad Town, the gas tanker exploded due to the fire, 16 rescue vehicles participated in the operation to extinguish the fire, fire tenders were also called from Muzaffargarh and Khanewal.
Loud explosions were heard from far away, causing citizens to be in great fear.
According to eyewitnesses, the explosion occurred due to a fire in the tanker, the burning pieces fell on the houses of the local population, which affected the roofs of the houses.
According to the Multan Commissioner, all the people present in Fahad Town were rescued, the dead and injured were immediately shifted to Nishtar Hospital, the condition of several is said to be critical.
According to the local administration, electricity and gas supply were stopped in the area. A case of cylinder explosions in Multan was registered at the Muzaffarabad police station, and a committee headed by the commissioner was also formed to investigate the incident.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have expressed grief over the deaths of citizens in the gas tanker explosion in Multan, expressed sympathy with the families of the deceased and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
The Prime Minister has directed to find out the reasons for the gas tanker explosion and prevent such incidents in the future.
